Kidz Klub Connection 8

Charisse, Licensed Childcare Director • Apr 01, 2020

Hello Kidz Klub!

Happy April Fool's Day!

Have you ever heard Wednesday referred to as "Hump Day"? Did you know where the term ‘Hump Day’ originated from?  According to the Urban Dictionary, Wednesday, or the hump of the week got the slang term ‘Hump Day” to represent successfully making it through the end of the day on Wednesday and being on the down slide to the weekend.  It was an interesting fact to learn about!

Today, in honor of it being Wednesday, I’m going to draw inspiration from the one and only Mr. Hump Day himself … the CAMEL!  I’m not sure how I’m going to incorporate a camel in all of today’s activities, but I will challenge myself again and do my best to draw inspiration from this amazing animal.

Be Safe. Be healthy. Make good choices. Enjoy.

Take good care.

Miss  Charisse

Written by Wanuri Kabiu

Illustrated by Manuela Adreani

Etabo dreams of being a camel racer. One day he might even beat his older brother when they race. But with the price of water rising, Etabo's father must sell the camels, and his siblings must find work. What will Etabo do now? From acclaimed Kenyan filmmaker Wanuri Kahiu and Italian illustrator Manuela Adreani, this story of love and hope centers on the inspiring Turkana people of northwest Kenya. Told with gentleness and humor, it is a universal story about keeping one's dreams alive.
