Gym & Team Sports

Our gymnasium is located on the second floor of the building. The special design of the gym, with multiple dividers, helps staff members run more age specific programs simultaneously including basketball, soccer, volleyball, softball and other inter club sports/games. The gymnasium helps youth exercise on a daily basis and emphasizes the importance of maintaining a healthy and nutritious diet.

Triple Play

Triple Play, a game plan for Mind, Body and Soul is a dynamic wellness program that demonstrates how eating right, keeping fit and forming positive relationships add up to a healthy lifestyle. Triple Play activities are offered throughout the Club in three categories: Mind, Body & Soul.

Mind - This program component encourages young people to eat smart through the Healthy Habits program, which covers the power of choice, calories, vitamins and minerals, the food pyramid and appropriate portion sizes. To reinforce this component, ALL CHILDREN are given a FREE nutritious snack and the option to receive a FREE healthy hot dinner every day after school. All snacks and dinners served meet the USDA nutritional guidelines.

Body - This program component boosts the traditional physical activities to a higher level by providing sports and fitness activities for all youth. It includes six daily fitness challenges; teen sports clubs focused on leadership development, service and careers in athletics; and Triple Play games, inter-Club tournaments that involve multiple team sports.

Soul - This program component helps build positive relationships and cooperation among young people. This component uses the games rooms to help youth strengthen their ability to interact positively with others. Youth build social skills while playing foosball, pool, air hockey, ping pong and poly pong. The games room are now separated by age groups, the Majors and Minors room, to allow children to interact with youth in their own age group, creating a greater sense of comfort for members while giving them a deeper feeling of ownership over their Games Room.

Greater Westfield PAL

Our objective is to change unwarranted feelings and attitudes about crime and the criminal justice system. We want to generate an individual sense of responsibility for Crime Prevention and initiate individual action toward preventing crime. This program has been made possible through a grant provided by the Police Athletic/Activities League.
