The Club Art Studio is an entire area dedicated to Boys & Girls Clubs of America's core program area, "The Arts". The brightly decorated space provides members with professional quality art supplies. Our Art Studio Coordinator, Jocelyn, holds a Bachelors Degree in Art from Westfield State University.
Members are welcome to come and go from the Art Studio during open hours. Our Studio Coordinator organizes and implements a new project every day after school and during school vacations. Covering everything from painting, drawing, and collage; most of the daily activities are geared toward the National Fine Arts Program, allowing the children to work year round at building their confidence and nurturing their developing skills as young artists while experimenting with color theory and the elements/principles of design in a calm, dedicated space.
National Fine Arts:
National Fine Arts is a year-round program that encourages artistic expression among Club members ages 6-18 through drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, mixed media and sculpture displayed at local and regional exhibits. A panel of distinguished local artists judge art pieces and select winners that are then submitted to the National Fine Arts Exhibit. Winners of the national contest have their work displayed throughout the year at BGCA events, including the annual National Conference. Each winning work is featured in a virtual gallery on BGCA's website .
The Images Makers Photography Program encourages Club members ages 6 to 18 to learn and practice black-and-white, color, digital and alternative process photography featuring categories in portrait, nature and surroundings, fashion and design, culture and tradition, and editing and filter application
Open to Club members of ALL AGES Art Club is an opportunity for youth to become more involved in the Studio by helping with fundraisers, volunteering at special events, & participating in field trips
