Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers should expect to commit one to two hours each week/bimonthly.

 

Mentoring: Build and foster a trusting, positive relationship by spending one-to-one or small group time with youth members.  Provide academic and moral support, encouragement and guidance.

 

Tutor: Lead small groups of homework help sessions in various subject areas.

 

Art Instructor: Help children express their creative spirit through teaching a wide range of new crafts, musical instruction or visual and performing arts.

 

Computer Instructor: Lend a hand with programs in the computer lab by helping children master basic Microsoft programs, the Internet and graphic design programs.

 

Coaches and Referees: Assist physical education programs, such as inter Club group sports games, tournaments and various sports leagues.

 

Leadership Advisors: Assist with programs that provide life skills, goal setting, discussion sessions and conflict resolution that prepare youth to be responsible, self-reliant and caring adults.

 

College and Career Advisors: Help teens explore educational and career aspirations.  Activities include job shadowing, college/university tours and college/career fairs.

 

Guest Speaker: Share your life experiences and expertise to help youth learn life lessons outside the normal classroom setting.

 

Special Event Volunteers: Help during special events such as golf tournaments, road races and holiday celebrations.  Activities vary based on the event.
