Position Description
The Westfield Family Support Network provides coordinated educational services and support to low income families in the Greater Westfield area with children under the age of 5 living in poverty.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor degree in Psychology, Human Services, Counseling, Education or similar area. Experience in program management and/or the provision of client services. Ability to demonstrate leadership, advocacy and positive role modeling. Report writing, excellent verbal communication and collaborative skills, and knowledge of educational and GED Testing also required. Ability to work efficiently, and proactively, demonstrating follow through is critical. Strong computing and electronic communication skills necessary. Ideal candidate will be highly organized, self-directed and able to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in Psychology, Human Services, Counseling, Education or similar area. Familiarity with Westfield area community human service needs and human service and educational providers a plus. Grant coordination experience extremely beneficial.Reporting Relationship
Program Coordinator reports to the Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Westfield. Position located at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Westfield.Job Responsibilities
- Develop strong communication networks with all Westfield area human services partners and providers.
- Develop candidate recruitment plan and execute plan.
- Perform intake of candidates insuring that they meet grant requirements.
- Assist in selection of participants.
- Develop on-going ‘wait’ list.
- Conduct orientation of participants.
- Coordinate participant transportation when needed.
- Assist in development of ‘Master Schedule’ of all program services
- Coordinate, track and document all participant services insuring program services are delivered on time.
- Monitor participant’s attendance and performance. Instruct/mentor participants in brainstorming ways to surmount attendance obstacles.
- Advise/support participants through case management.
- Develop schedules, set agendas, moderate/facilitate meetings and operate as the central contact for the Network Committee.
- Write update/final progress reports for grant funder.
- Additional duties/responsibilities as needed.
